Thanksgiving and Christmas Time!

My goals of being a good blogger never come true, so I'll stop promising things. :)

I love this time of year. I can honestly say that Thanksgiving and Christmas are my two favorite National Holidays. I just feel so blessed this time of year. I know that most of you have known me for a long time now, and I want to thank you for putting up with me for 14 (almost 15!) years now. I'm so grateful for you and what you've done in my life and the life of my family. All I can say is Thank You, and I mean it. :)

This Thanksgiving my family and I all went up to Washington to visit my mom's parents. There was so much snow in Seattle that they closed the Seattle Airport and we had to sit in the SLC airport for 6 hours. It was extremely boring. If you have ever tried to sleep in one of those impossible-to-sleep-in chairs, you know what I mean. although we had tons of turbulence and slid on the runway as we landed, I survived and had a great time with my Grandma!

We were able to go to and 'old folks' home and eat Thanksgiving dinner there with my Great Grandma and some of her friends. It was very neat. I really enjoyed it! We even played cards after pie. Those older folks are very sly.... They cheat! :)

Black Friday shopping was my favorite part of the whole vacation. I did try to attempt to wake up at 2:30 am but to no prevail. Sleep won that battle and we left at 5 am instead. We started with Kohls where I stood in the dressing room for about 2 hours trying on things that my Grandma and Great Aunt gave me. Currently those clothes are in a box my Grandma still needs to send to me... All in all, this vacation has been one of my favorite this year.

School is going good. I really like High School, although I feel as a Freshman we aren't given many opportunities to do anything. There are a minimum amount of classes that we can take, and we rarely are admitted into extra curricular activities. It is kind of a bummer, but I'll be more excited for next year!

I do regret not trying out for the soccer team this year. I believe it was fear. Fear that I wasn't good enough. Fear that I wasn't skinny enough. I just have fear, and I'm not over that fear yet. I finished my last year with Provo Rec. with my team being undefeated League Champions! 8-0-2 (wins-loses-ties). It was a great year and I hope I'll be able to play soccer with all those girls again!!

In the end, I'm very grateful for all I have, especially you. Thank you for everything. :)

High School

Well summer is over and now I am a big girl... in high school!!!! Although constantly being teased about being a freshman, having friends change completely when they're around other people, having to quit band, and the huge seniors, everything is going just great! I really do like Seminary though. Seminary and English are my two favorite subjects right now. My seminary teacher is Bro. Pearce, who also is in my ward (which is totally sweet!). Although I am spoiled and have release time for seminary, I still have to have all of my classes passed with 0 no grades so that I'll have enough credits to graduate! :) I kind of feel weird among the crowd, especially since I'm not 16 and I have to wait 1 1/2 more years to date. It's very odd to see people ask other people out, then know that I won't be able to join in. But hey, if the prophet says I can't do it, then I'll trust him. I haven't made any really new "friends" yet, but it is only the 4th day of school. I'll be better on blogging, I promise!! (and that is the truth :) ).

After I watched this video, I really did start to think about all the things I'm thankful for. Even though some of the things include pie, boys, and soft pillows, I am still thankful for SO many things. I'm especially thankful for the gosple and the affect it's had on my life. I have no clue where I would be without it.

I'm grateful for my parents, and all they do for me! I'm grateful that they got married in the temple, so that my family can all live together forever!

I'm grateful for Young Womens and Personal Progress. Doing Personal Progress just makes life better! I don't feel like its a chore, or some extra homework. It helps me with everyday problems and questions. I'm thankful for everyone in my ward that's in Young Womens. I love you guys!! :) You are some of the best friends I'll ever had! (That includes leaders!)

Thank you to all my friends! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU! You all have had an affect on my life, and because of that, I'm a better person today than I was yesterday.

I love you ALL and have a Happy Thanksgiving! :)

No School Today...

So there was no school today. I really didn't want to stay home alone, so I went to the mall with Sandra. We got stopped by the same type of booths and they tried to sell us $60 nail things. It was so annoying! The first lady that stopped us started to buff Sandra's nails. After she was done she said, "So did you like that or love that?" Sandra said she liked it, and then the lady asked, "So how will you pay?" We were so confused, and then she asked us how we would pay IF we were to buy the $60 package of stuff. We said cash and she asked us how much we had with us. Sandra said $2 and I said the same. Then the salesperson said, "No, your lying." Totally rude! We walked for a little while longer and got stopped by another guy for the same product!! He was nicer, and he lowered the price of a smaller $30 package to $14, but was still mad when I said, "Not today". WEIRD!!!

Sorry, no good excuses for not updating in like 6 months. I'm just lazy, I guess. I'll work on getting it updated. Maybe that will be one of my New Year resolutions......

Anyways, life has been good. Since last I've written: I've been to Philadelphia, NYC, and Washington DC. I've gone to 8th grade. My grandpa has died. And I still have a GPA of 4.0. Wow. Interesting huh? I PROMISE, I'll do better. :)

That's my excuse for not updating in a while. ;) Well, there's nothing much to update on. Miriam and I went to the Temple last week, and that was fun. I passed the term with all A's. I went and saw Miss Mac's play (which was AMAZING!). I just got back from the Draper Temple Detication, which was so cool to see! There. Now your updated with me. Guess what?? I'm at school! Right now! Ya, I know! And yes, I am allowed to be on this. I just tested my rocket in CTE Tech and got an A!!! Happy day! When I get home, I'll put pictures on here. I haven't written in a while... Sorry! But it's so cool that I'm at school and on the computer!! :)

Valentine's Day

It was so much fun!! On Friday we had the dance/party at school, and its been the best one yet! Me and all my friends got totally hyper (in a good way) and it was way fun!! Another coolio or kewl (those are Mary's words) that happened was I got 14 cookies!! Let me explain....
Our school, as a fund raiser, sells cookies for $1. They are Granny B.'s and TOTALLY unhealthy, but that's what makes them good, right? ;) Well, I got 14!!! I feel so loved! :)
Later that day I went to my friend Clara's birthday party, and that was WAY fun!! We told scary stories and Colin scared me half to death! (ask me about that later... I'm to tired to type it now...)
On Saturday (Valentine's Day) my dad got me and my sister balloons and my mom got one for my brother. Its a family tradition! Then my dad, my brother, my sister, and I all made a Candy Gram for my mom and she loved it!! It was way cool! Then we delivered valentines to all the single people in our ward and gave them flower pins to put on their shirts. But the sad thing was we had to walk in freezing cold SNOW!!! Anyways...
Then Mary and I went shopping and that was fun. We took my sister with us, and my brother went to a friends house. That gave my mom and dad a little bit of time together, which they needed.
When we came home our family watched a movie called Fireproof, which a recommend to all married or engaged couples. Or if you just want to watch it, it's an amazing movie.
All in all, I had a GREAT Valentine's Day!

Whoo! I'm SSSSOOO excited for Valentine's Day! It's probley my favorite holiday other than St. Pat's day. I don't really know why...... Maybe it's because I love hearts...... or because I'm so glad my parents fell in love. If they hadn't, I wouldn't be here! (Please, don't cry! I'm trying not to myself.) :) Well, we have our Valentine's Day dance/party tomorrow at school and I'm WAY excited!!

I'M SO MAD!!!! M-A-D!!!! And I bet you want to know why. Well.... THERE IS NO SOCCER IN THE SPRING FOR 7-9TH GRADERS!!!! ISN'T THAT TERRIBLE!!!??? *sigh*... I'm sorry. It's just that this is really, really dumb. And it's just for 7-9th graders!! Every other grade can play in the spring!! *sigh*... What is this world coming to??!! Guess what?? I'm in the Music Man! And I'm a Pick-A-Little Lady! (I don't have time to explain what that is.) I'm SSSSOOO happy and excited!!! I know it might seem like a really boring part, but it's really a TON of fun!! I am way excited! I'm also in the chorus, so that means I get to sing the songs Iowa Stubborn, Trouble, Wells Fargo Wagon, and 76 Trombones. And of course, Pick-A-Little, Talk-a-little. All of you that can come see it, PLEASE DO! It's April 9-11, at 7pm at Centennial Middle School. We don't have prices yet, but its really cheap! Its around $3 for adults and $2 for kids. It's gonna be great!

Christmas and New Year's

Well I got a new book, some earrings, a necklace, an iHome, and some chocolate. Not a lot, but I didn't want a lot either. It was a great Christmas though!
New Year's Eve was AWESOME! I went to the Stake Center and they had a huge party! There was a dance at 10-Midnight, but only those 14 and older could go! (sigh) Darn! The party was a lot of fun though! We played TONS of games and watched a slideshow of all the things we did this year.
Then Mary came to my house and we played Phase Ten with my mom and ate TONS of Sour Skittles! Then we went to Mary's house and waited till 12. Then we went outside and rang bells and slapped pots and pans together and yelled "Happy New Year!" I got to bed at 1. And I woke up at 10! I'm STILL tired!! Oh well! Its been another GREAT year!
I want to thank all of you who have helped me shape my life and be the person that I am today. (that includes you, Miriam!) I love you all and hope you had a wonderful year just like me!

A Christmas Carol and School

Well last night I went and saw A Christmas Carol the Musical. It was a ton of fun!!! For those of you that have read the book, do you remember when Srooge looks out the window and see's the ghosts walking through the streets? Well, instead of him looking out the window, they went on stage for the musical and did a cool dance and song number. Then they went up the isle to exit. As one ghost who had coins wrapped around it's neck passed us, he said "This is what happens when you don't pay your tithing!" It was so funny! Mary and I just started to bust out laughing!! Only in Provo would that ever happen!!
Today was also the last day before Christmas Break! Each class was only 25 minuets long, and lunch counted on 7th period. We got out of school at 12!!! It was awesome!!!

A Christmas Carol

Wow! Its a Christmas Carol marathon!! For english I had to read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Then we had a Victorian Party and played games like similies and such. It was a lot of fun! Then that week we watched the movie. It was awesome! And tonight I'm going to see the Musical by Center Street Theater! I'm so exctied!!!!

This past week I got to go to Classic Skating for a Field Trip during school! It was so much fun! My favorite was Blackout, and it's name is self explanitory. (In case you didn't ge that, all the lights go out). :) Anyways, right after Blackout was Snowball. That's when you and another person, be it a boy or girl, skate around holding hands. I didn't get asked to do this. But I'm not that devistated. Some girls though were all tramatized because they didn't get asked. Who cares??

Today was the dance at school. It was ok. It was a lot of fun and stuff, but not the best. Here's what happened: I danced w/ my friends. Got ditched. Took 3 different pictures at the Photo Booth. This week has been great. I had tons of fun! I had a soccer game on Tuesday, and that went well. Then today was good. Tomorrow is a block day, and that'll be ok. Not the best, but ok. School is great. Yesterday was Job Shadow Day. I got to Shadow my 6th grade teacher, Miss McFarland (Miss Mac). I got to copy papers, run arons, put papers in page protectors, cover books with Cole and Gwen, and helping all the students with their work. It was good to be at Wasatch again!
Today was ok. We had an early out at 12:50, so right after lunch I got to go home! :) But it's Block Days, so that's not the best. Anyways, I hope your week has been good.

Spirit Week

This week was Spirit Week at school! Monday was Super Model Day; Tuesday was Blast From the Past day; Wednesday was Pirate Day; Thursday was A Day in Spain; and today was Crazy Day! I wore my hair all crazy! Plus, Cole had this awesome wig, and I wore it during math! Except for he took it away, so I couldn't see myself in the mirror...
Anyways, for Super Model Day I was a Sports Model (with High Heels!!!). Then on Tuesday I was from the 50's, and I wore a poodle skirt! On Wednesday I didn't have anything. On Thursday I wore this really cute outfit with a flower in my hair! It was an awesome week! Except for we had Block Days, and those aren't the best....OH! And just to let Cole know, the Spirit Assesmbly was awesome to! You guys did a great job!
